The site is required to deliver more value for less cost consistently through more efficient utilisation of the available resources (people, funds, assets, knowledge).
Innovative solutions are required to:
• Deliver more work at no extra cost
• Generate additional income
• Utilise existing assets to create value
• Eliminate or minimise inefficiencies
The power station team participated enthusiastically over two days in learning and applying Ideality’s ACTOR^(R) process.   33 ideas were identified and plans for six specific project opportunities identified were prepared.   One of the opportunities was immediately put forward to the Group’s annual innovation challenge.
The ACTOR^(R) process is systematic and demands a systematic adoption of the rules and principles in order to maximise the benefits of incorporating a rapid innovation culture.  The nuclear power station team made a significant step forward in adopting a systematic approach to innovation in the course of these workshop days, in their vital task of proceeding with a decommissioning programme that is safe for all.
